A high-level U.S. nuclear industry delegation visiting India has emphasized the growing strategic partnership between the two countries in the field of nuclear energy, especially after the passage of the Shanti Act.
Speaking during the U.S. Nuclear delegation mission to India, Maria Korsnick, President and CEO of the Nuclear Energy Institute (NEI), said the visit is aimed at helping American companies better understand India’s nuclear energy plans and future opportunities.
Korsnick said NEI is working alongside the US-India Strategic Partnership Forum (USISPF) to strengthen cooperation between the U.S. commercial nuclear sector and Indian government and private industry stakeholders.
She highlighted that long-term clean energy goals globally would depend heavily on nuclear power and said American firms are eager to partner with Indian companies not only for projects inside India, but also for investments and joint projects in the United States and other countries.
According to Korsnick, the collaboration could evolve into a broader strategic relationship involving technology sharing, infrastructure development, and international nuclear energy expansion.
The discussions come as India continues to expand its clean energy ambitions while seeking reliable low-carbon power sources to support economic growth and rising electricity demand.
