Prime Minister of Iceland, Kristrun Frostadottir, has underlined the strengthening relationship between India and the Nordic region, pointing to expanding collaboration in geothermal energy, renewable technologies, trade, and investment opportunities.

Speaking on the evolving global economic landscape, Frostadottir said India and Iceland share significant potential for cooperation, particularly in sustainable energy and green development sectors. She emphasised that trade agreements and economic partnerships could unlock new opportunities for businesses and investors in both countries.

The Icelandic Prime Minister also called for deeper “sambandh” — or stronger people-to-people and strategic ties — between India and Iceland, highlighting the importance of international cooperation in a rapidly changing world order.

The remarks reflect growing engagement between India and Nordic nations as both sides seek stronger partnerships in clean energy, innovation, climate-focused technologies, and economic development.
