The Delhi High Court on Friday granted a three-day interim bail to anti-CAA activist Umar Khalid in connection with the larger conspiracy case linked to the 2020 Delhi riots.

According to the court order, Khalid will be released from June 1 to June 3 on furnishing a personal bond of Rs 1 lakh. The interim relief was granted to enable him to attend to his mother before she undergoes a medical surgery.

Khalid, who has been in judicial custody since September 2020, is one of the accused in the conspiracy case investigated under provisions of the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA) and other sections related to the 2020 northeast Delhi violence.

The court imposed conditions during the interim bail period and directed that Khalid surrender after the expiry of the granted relief period.
